Subject: Can someone guess if I got my new 255/65/16 rims to fit?

Got some Mercedes ML320 alloys which came with free 255/65/16 Dunlop tires. I was going to install it in my 16" Syncro when it arrives.

In the meantime, I thought I would try it on the 2wd van. It was just sitting there ever so innocently. A little interference in the front but hey???!!! It fits. I can even use the stock bolts. No drilling required. Just a little clearancing around the hub.

Out to the back. Hmmm.. looks like it could fit... Yeah fenders clear. OOPS! damned swing arm is in the way. It would take a 1" spacer to clear the arm and an extended door U-arm to clear 'em. But they can fit. hehehe. Ya gotta see how cool looking they look on a Vanagon

I guess it'll have to wait for the 16" Syncro DC.

BenT
