Well, the first week after I got my 82 Diesel back in 95, I had filled the tank a few days earlier and reset the trip odometer to Zero so I could see what kind of mileage this strange beast would get. I was driving, driving, driving, needle got down to just above orange. Little did I know it would never go lower than this due to a tank float issue. I run out of gas one the up-ramp to a drawbridge less then a mile

from my house. The trip odometer said 425 Low and behold they are painting the bridge and there is a small tank of diesel on back of sand blasting truck. They gave me a gallon and I made to the gas station. Now I fill up after hitting 350 and never more then 400. 27mpg for a 5200 lb. van. OK with me.
