Subject: Need help, I can't get transmission back into vanagon.

Hello, Well my torque convertor went bad, and I replaced it, but I couldn't seem to get the transmission back in on monday. It would probably be easier if I was a pro and had a lift, and stuff, but alas I only have an assortmant of jacks, and stands. My setup is I have the vanagon up on jack stands on the back, a jack under the engine to hold it up, and I have a jack under the transmission in order to lift it up under the car. The problem is those bolts sticking out of the belhousing on the engine get in the way of me lifting the tranny up if I have it close to the engine, and I can't make room for the bolts because then the nose of the tranny hits. Has anyone done this job before, and if you can understand what I am telling you, could you give me some pointers?

Thanks, Brian Wagener -- ForceConstant http://force.ath.cx http://shoptalk.tunacan.net
