My Audi 5000 Quattro (1987) has 15" wheels from the factory with 45mm offset - which without some modification is incorrect for the Vanagon. The Audi 200 will be in the same boat with their 45mm off set. You really need between 25 and 35mm to "do it right".

The only Audi Wheels that will correctly fit without going overly wide are the Audi 80 RS Avant Quattro steel wheels from Europe. Rare as hens teeth too!

I have found a set of 15" Audi 200T (I assume this is the car sold as 5000 in USA) alloy wheels at a wrecker, going for $400NZ for four...that's $168US.

I am told these are very rare, as these cars normally have 14" wheels. i don't know if they are factory or aftermarket (if the latter, who knows what offset they are).

If factory, WILL THEY FIT the Vanagon? The stud pattern is the same, studholes the same size, centers need machining out a bit? Offset correct, or do they need spacing? I cannot access the archives.

If aftermarket, what markings do I need to look for on them?
