I have the autotech spacers. I think I paid about $15 or $20. They never
worked to well for me. They are plastic and even using the recommended crazy
glue to glue the mating splines together before using the longer screw, with
use the splines would wear out. So I'd file the plastic spacer a bit to get
down to "good" splines and re-install them. Finally there was no spline left
to file to so I filed down the "top" (the side that attaches to the metal
crank) so it fit the two indentations in the metal part of the crank handle.
The indentations in the crank are designed to "clip" the plastic crank handle
cover--so I had to cut away the plastic cover a bit with a razor blade once
the metal crank and plastic spacer were slotted together. This works great,
but doesn't look great as the plastic handle cover doesn't seat right.
Although the truth is it's such a small adjustment it's barely noticable.
