Speed is not one of the characteristics of the car moving industry! I used Kiwi Karriers in Port Townsend WA to move the non-running '74 MGB GT from San Antonio to Seattle. This is a contractor with 15 haulers contracted to them, all with three car trailers, so they are fairly efficient, and this method is easier on the vehicle than those huge semi transport rigs. They were also the cheapest I could find. They are at 360-379-6602 and worth a call. Figure $.45/mile and expect to pay a $100 to $150 premium for a non-running vehicle. Payment terms are cash or money order on delivery. My MG cost $950 to haul, but it was original and rust free, having lived in the sunbelt and been in storage for 10 years, so it was worth it.

A fellow by the name of Carlos Rendon delivered the car, and he has his own business, RC Carriers. You can try him directly on his pager at 806-379-6602, he might just be in the Bay area soon if you are incredibly lucky!

If you have a truck with hitch qualified to haul a car trailer the cheapest way is to rent the trailer and do it yourself. But do the math, it might not save you much when you factor in the gas and vacation time you would use.
