When I first got my Westy, I would regularly get 320 miles per tank. Since
those days, the tank has gotten a bit smaller (dents and perhaps debris?)
and the tires have gotten larger (27X8.50 14). I start to get nervous
around 270 now.

highway cruising in relatively flat country at 60-65 mph or about 270 miles
to the tank (but I'm not brave enough to go that far!). I've heard of
non-Westy's getting 22-23 mpg on the highway.
