How about adding PTFE for engines with over 100,000 miles. Like Mobil 1 or Slick 50. Also new to the list sorry if this has been addressed previously. Also I just picked up a 88 Vanagon as an organ donor. My wife's 86 lost the gasket on the oil filter flange and blew a rod, only had 250,000 miles, what a shame. Any advice on switching the engines out myself or what a fair price would be. Should be a straight switch except the exhaust on the 86 is new and much quieter. The 86 is so much better shape very little rust and otherwise well maintained, and it's an automatic. Donor is a straight drive. I am in North Carolina, Burlington. Any advice would be much appreciated. THANKS, SR Chad wrote: > anyone ever used Lucas oil additive in their van's?
