The oil pressure switch conductor may have a high resistance short to ground especially where it is routed between the engine tin and the cylinder jacket. I had this occur once and it would only present itself during wet weather. Until it was diagnosed, it provoked a bout of the Now What?! Syndrome with which most Vanagon Owners are familiar. 4. The oil pressure may be marginal. You would have to check this with a pressure gauge temporarily plumbed into the oil pressure switch tapping. Rich |
