My Pro Training manual for the Digifant (don't know the model dates it covers) mentions a "breather valve" on the crankcase that controls recycled emissions according to manifold pressure - sounds like the PCV valve I'm familiar with. But my '87 2.1 only has the "vapor separator" - the large cylinder that bolts to the crankcase with 1" air hose back to the air plenum. i.e., there is nothing inside that cylinder - it is empty (there is a restrictor plate with 5.5 mm hole, but no valve, inside the "vent line heating element" in the 1" air line between the cylinder and the air plenum). Is there supposed to be a "breather valve" on mine, or was it only on earlier models? With apologies for so many questions lately - I'm trying to learn how these vanagons work as a 6 mo. owner.
