While I do agree with the comment about bashing vendors (of course I am guilty of that too I am sure), I am enlightened to hear Ron's response. Why? I learned some things. So, in that regard, I am grateful to Paul for the original post. If he had just "shut up" and said nothing, I/we would not have had an opportunity to expand horizons. Granted, the information may be largely inconsequential to most people, but to me it held certain interest in regard to recycling, and the practices of shipping items. It also reopened to me a larger perspective, as I will briefly explain. Perhaps only so because it tracks my own theory that we humans merely move things from one place to another throughout our lives. The things we move are tangible and intangible. But it always seems that placing too much emphasis on the tangible leads to a never ending quest for perfection that cannot be obtained except as a brief flicker for a moment. "Out, out, brief candle! Life's but a walking shadow. A poor player that struts and frets his hour upon the stage and then is heard again no more. It is a tale told by an idiot. Full of sound and fury, signifying nothing." Perhaps I digress. Perhaps not. HK No, I am not a Nihilist. : ) Just a little depressed in the Holiday Season at futility of our humanity. |
