Paul,

It may be that simple, but it is not simply a "wet weather thing".  The
dampness only shines a light on the problem.  In my case, the pinched
conductor between the engine tin and cylinder case was the defect.  As far as
opening up the dashboard, I would start my exploration on the opposite end of
the circuit if I were you, i.e., at the pressure switch.  If you cannot
locate an obvious wiring fault which causes a false low pressure indication,
it would be prudent to check the oil pressure with a gauge.
