Also ...

2 to email details on how they spent 2 hours with electrical wire, duct tape, and paper clips _repairing_ the light bulb so that they did not have to replace it ...

(6 more to argue about what gauge of wire and color of paper clip should be used to effect this repair ...)

3 to suggest _alternatves_ to a light bulb (home made or otherwise) that they have used, rather than to replace their light bulb (most far inferior to a light bulb and involving more time and expense).

2 to ask where one can buy a _used_ light bulb, having not checked to disover that a new one is under a dollar ...

1 to respond that one is on auction on Ebay for $15.00 ...

1 to complain that he ordered a light bulb from a list Vendor 3 days ago and it still hasn't arrived ...

117 to argue about whether that list Vendor is good or bad, and whether the issue of the whether he is good or bad should be discussed on the list

1 to indignantly bring up the moral ramifications of changing a light bulb (i.e. the environmental impact of electrical use and used light bulb disposal)...

Causing 12 more to go off on a tangent about the various types of power generation (nuclear vs hydro etc)...

3 to remind the above 12 that the list is about Vanagons (as the nuclear advocates and opponents continue to flame eachother) ...

1 to interrupt this heated argument to ask how to unsubscribe...

1 to quote a page-long section of another listmember's post, only to add "me too" to the end of it. (This email would be in html format and with a fifteen-line long signature) ...

1 to insist that a light bulb is unneccesary in the first place ...

and, of course, one newbie to query "what is a light bulb?"
