Possibly a tank of water! Every underground tank has dirt and water that sits harmlessly at the bottom. However when a tanker cames and fills it up it all getts stirred up untill it has time to settle. Moral, don't buy gas where they're filling up the tanks or have recently been!

PS Start eith your fuel filter.
