Thanks everyone for the advice. Luckily I was able to blackma' er get a 'volunteer' to help me check the Hall sender this morning. Yep, busted.

I called around the area looking for a distro from a wrecking yard, but looks like their all out. Man, just over a week ago, I had found one for an even $100. Damn, shoulda taken it. Ah well. Shoulda woulda coulda.

So, lucikly the great guys down at Redmond Werkshop where able to find just a Hall sender (for $206). Whew! Better than buying a whole new Distributor though. I would wait and find a better deal, but I gotta get this bus on the road.

Thanks again!

Hi Don, If you have no coil pulses or fuel injector pulses the problem is most likely the hall unit but it could be the ecu. The bentley show a way to test the hall unit. Darrell

Hi Darrell,

THanks for the info. But no twitchs. Nothin. All the relays check out fine. I'm afraid I'm going to have to just replace the hall sender unit. Ah well....

Thanks!

Hi Don, Assuming you have a digifant 1 First when you turn on the key the fuel pump must run for a couple of seconds. The fuel pump is powered by a relay above the coil. The relay is energized by the ecu. The ecu is powered by another relay in the box above the coil. The latter relay is energized when the key is in start or run position.

2 To get fuel injector pulses or coil pulses you need hall pulses. Watch the tach it should twitch with each hall pulse. Darrell

I've lokked over and rechecked every conenction on the motor. Could the hall sender have anything to do with it?

So today I was cleaning up my engine compartment. Everything went back together fine, but now my van won't start. I have my Digitool hooked up and it shows that the Injectors and the coil aren't firing. Did I forget something? I've checked every wire and tube. Everything looks fine. Any ideas?

Recheck all the connections.... something was not hooked up right... pay particular attention to the wire that goes from the coil to the distributor....

Bill
