if it is a maual you have to remove the axle shafts. I mean what would happen to this vehicle if it where to ssay umm pop in to gear?? :)

OK, so call me Slow Moe, but what does the tow dolly have to do with the rear axle shafts? Or did you tow it backwards?

(I'm begining to think these Vanagons are quite durable after all. That's a pretty good load to tow.)
