Speaking of Wal-Mart, I bought and returned a series of three or four Stanley thermoses (thermi, perhaps?).

These things used to be the very model of dependability (my dad has a few from the fifties that will keep liquids boiling for weeks, or so it seems), but I've gotten one bad one after another. Anyone else had this kind of experience with their products lately??

Yeah, I know. It'll be Friday soon, somewhere. :-)
