Subject: 4000 RPM idle Please Help
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="US-ASCII"

Sent an email to the list a few weeks ago about a friends van having this trouble. (he is out of the country now) But the issue has now moved to mine. As soon as I start the van it JUMPS up to 4000RPMs.I checked the linkage on the transmission in the boot. Seems to function ok, and not be stuck or anything.

Now I know my idle stabilizer is bad, have a new one being installed next week.(paid for 2 months ago, just have not brought it back yet) But that has been bad for more than year now. And usly kicks it up to 2000RPM's that I can kick down by feathering the gas before I put it into gear (only happens like this when its like 20 out, and seems to be ok when it warms up)

Ran fine weds night, Thurs. morning was on the road for work in a COLD Hartford area started up and just jumped up to 4000RPMs, and now back to a warmer/no ice NY and the problem is still there.

Any idea's or anyone had a similar problem to this. Hoping for a cheap, fast fix. This is the daily driver and sole vehicle at this time....

Thanks Tim 87Wolfsburg
