Gary,
My van has just started some intermitten sputtering and missing. It
idles OK and Wide Open Throttle is OK but in between after it warms
up it would sputter and hickup and looked like a complete fuel
cut-off. Like I said it is intermittent and the last 5 days it has
been running great, as a Syncro should in the winter.
I'm in Rochester New York, and the road dept. loves to spray as much
salt as possible around here. So your analysis and conclusion of
salt getting in the wiring and causing a short is an excellent place
to start and clean the terminals. It just makes sense since that
damn salt gets in everywhere and crystalizes from the mist off the
road.
Cheers,
Joel
