My 90 GL has had the same problem when the weather gets cold from about 80,000 miles on - it's now got 140,000 and I still haven't fixed it. Not recommending anyone else follows my example, but by keeping a careful eye on the collant level (and knowing via compression tests that it's not a head gasket to cylinder leak but only the water jacket) I've put off the expense of pulling the heads for about 5 years or so. Maybe living in San Francisco area helps weather-wise. I've gone through the hassle of flushing and using the moroso ceramic sealant - didn't work. Just my 2cents...
