Now is the time to purchase a new '83-'91 style radiator, temp sensor, and fan. The 1982 diesel Vanagon radiator is unique and expensive. The cost of the conversion is almost certain to be less than the 1982 radiator alone. A small and simple modification to the wiring harness is required for the newer temperature sensor.

I know that the same motor was used in some other models of VW how about the radiators. I have the original and had the Radiator Shop repair it. They said it was so brittle that they could not guarantee their work. Before I go to all the work to put it back in I am checking my options. There are no diesels in junkyards in this state (Nebraska) That I could find. Options? Help? A shoulder to cry on?
