<html><DIV> <P>So what are the symptoms of a lazy oxy sensor? I'm having a bit of misfire, and I have new sparks, cap, rotor. I had new spark wires too, but I wasn't careful in putting them in and one of them got chewed up by the blades on the altenator (not right away, just happened). So I taped that wire up with electrical tape. Its running a lot better than it was when the plug wire was grounding out on the body of the altenator, but its a bit missy. I also added marvel mystery oil (1/2 a quart) and a small can of JB Fast Tune Up cause the valves were real loud all of a sudden. They're better now but how much better is hard to tell with all the other noise going on. There was also some squealing on a cold start up, which I hope is/was just the belt. <BR><BR></P></DIV> <DIV></DIV> <DIV></DIV>&gt;From: Ed DeBolt <EDDEBOLT@NETZERO.COM> <DIV></DIV>&gt; <DIV></DIV>&gt;my repair shop says my oxygen sensor (87 gl 2.1) is getting lazy and should <DIV></DIV>&gt;be replaced.... I asked how much does that cost and they told me $200. I was <DIV></DIV>&gt;checking busdepot and they have bosch oxygen sensors for $39. I guess that <DIV></DIV>&gt;is a huge incentive to install my own. Is it hard to do? what do I need to <DIV></DIV>&gt;do afterword? I just got the repair shop to set my timing and adjust my <DIV></DIV>&gt;valves. <DIV></DIV>&gt; <DIV></DIV>&gt;thanks for any tips on replacing it. <DIV></DIV>&gt; <DIV></DIV>&gt;ed <DIV></DIV>&gt; <DIV></DIV>&gt; <DIV></DIV>&gt;Shop Safely Online Without a Credit Card <DIV></DIV>&gt;http://www.rocketcash.com <DIV></DIV><br clear=all><hr>Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at <a href="http://explorer.msn.com">http://explorer.msn.com</a><br></p></html>
