Hi John, The 76-79 loaf 090 has a longer pinion gear shaft by about a centimeter than the one used on the 002 68-75. The 3rd and 4th gears can be swapped but that is about it. . Does anyone know if the ring and pinion from the late model Loafs ('76-79') are the same (apart from the ratio's) as the early Aircooled Vanagon manual transmissions? Regards John.
