I "presidented" a VW club for 3 years and heard all of these, and then some, arguments for and against the New Beetle. I even attended the car's unveiling at the Detroit Auto Show.

Despite all the arguments of die-hard air-cooled fanatics (not that there's anything wrong with that) you have to give VW credit for finally reaching and making a connection with its past. That deserves a standing ovation.
