Don't hold your breath. I find myself associating with a lot of Soccer Mom/Pop types among whom the Suburban is de rigueur. Although I notice them discretely checking out the capacious interior of the Vanagon whenever they come to talk to me while I am in it, none of them has ever stooped so low as to display enough curiosity about a Vanagon to ask me anything about it. I assume whenever one has a bunch of kids crawling all over themselves to get into a Lexus SUV or Suburban, there is no time to indulge native curiosity.
