Subject:      felt sealing washer on diesel clutch?

Hi-
        Was wondering if any diesel type out there had changed
their clutch and installed a felt washer. Looking over the
parts list for the crankshaft and flywheel area, there does
not appear to be a felt sealing washer listed for the diesel.
Has anyone had their pilot bearing gone south without it? Is
the stock diesel clutch just too small to warrant the sealing
washer (not enough dust produced)?
