Subject: Is blocking off rear heater ok?
Content-Type: text/plain; format=flowed

Volks,

My rear heater is leaking slightly, I can only smell it when the fan is on.

I noticed when I valved the rear heater off that the heat up front is now a lot hotter, which only stands to reason.

The rear heater I suppose has some flow through it even when shut off. My question is would removing the rear heater and plugging the rear heater hoses cause damage to the engine by restricting the cooling flow in some unforeseen way?

My 85 GL is mainly my Work Van, it is rare anyone is in it besides me.

Mark Ingalls

BTW: Rocky Mountain Motorworks has a 15% off sale which brings their rear heaters down to $80. Still more than busdepot or Vanagain but RMMW's has a lifetime warranty on everything they sell. Might be worth it for a rear heater. To bad they show out of stock on their website. _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com
