Got a question. Before I knew what I know now (very little but learning) about Vanagons (or waterleakers as many of you wish to call them), I believed that our 1.9 was replaced with a 2.1. My latest experience with a water pump made me question that. The waterpump was listed as 1.9 engine which is usually identified as pre-July 1985. The pump I originally got was for a 2.1 and naturally, it didn't fit. The question is-- How does one really know if they have a 1.9 (no matter what the date) or a 2.1? William |
