Subject: Mark Stephens Engine?
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1"
Saw this at: http://www.ep.com/js/mi/c0/b0/v0/1019956.html. Anyone know
anything about a "Mark Stephens" engine?
This camper has just over 1000 miles on a new engine. This engine was built
by Mark Stephens and doubles the stock horsepower (67HP) to 130 HP. The
engine alone was $2300. This van is for the van owner who desires a little
more than the standard engine provides. When the engine was replaced a new
external oil cooler with thermostat was added just beneath the front grill.
All other components were gone over , replacing ALL the old fuel lines
,engine compartment seal, and other hoses to the engine. The fuel injectors
were cleaned and flow tested and the fuel pump was flow tested.. It has a
new accelerator cable, thermostat and cable. Front brake pads replaced. It
has 4 new KYB shocks all around for a very comfy ride - comparable to the
feel of a new van. It has a Blaupunkt AM/FM Cassette stereo. I changed the
paint from ivory to cyber green when I got it (similar to the 1999 VW
color). The previous owner had a new clutch put in at 147,000 miles (
currently it has 157,000). All the new engine work was done at 156,000. New
stabilizer links to the front sway bar are currently being added . This van
also has the optional gasoline auxiliary heater, although it needs service.
The tires are still in good shape. Extras include a brand new bra, brand new
muffler, cylinder head temp. gage, and privacy glass.
This is a full camper and all the appliances work (stove, fridge, sink) and
are in good order. The canvas is in good shape.
We had planned to keep this van for a long time. However, I now intend to
upgrade to a Syncro 4 wheel drive camper.
This is a turnkey van for someone who wants a reliable van without any
maintenance for a while.
