hi all, relatively new to the list, didn't think i'd be posting a request for help so quickly. pulled the van('91 vanagon) out of the garage today to do a little putzing around in the interior only to notice a good sized puddle of coolant on the garage floor. the reserve and overflow tank were leak free (my usual source of trouble) and after crawling under the engine i noticed drops of coolant on the engine itself. i'm assuming it's at least the head gasket possibly the head itself. the engine has 142k miles on it, one cylinder head had been replaced by the previous owner, the exhaust system is on its way out. do i bother with repair? is it time to look into a transplant? what would you suggest? needless to say it killed a perfectly good day to putz with the van (and wisconsin doesn't get many of those in january) went to a tavern instead, watched jeoardy, got final jeopardy right (it was dolphins) and won a free drink. so at least my beverage karma is doing okay. thanks in advance for any help. kurt __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
