Thanks for the congtats Todd! Yes, Vinnie has both a rebuilt engine and transaxle. The engine was installed @ 200K miles. It's a VW Canada unit with no problems so far. There are tales of woe regarding VW Canada units as well as others but, so far, I'm happy as the proverbial clam! The transaxle, installed @ 218k miles, was a unit from Fast German Auto. They sub out the rebuild. Happy with it so far as well. Overall list opinion seems to be that for the engine Boston Bob is the bees knees and Darryl @ AAA Transaxle would be the other set of knees. If I had it to do over againI'd prolly go with them for rebuilds for no other reason than they are list contributors and opinion is very high regarding their workmanship. Cheers, Dave C.
