Subject:      The Roads in Canada kick butt

Howdy there folks
It looks like we made it the 1200 mile trip up into and out of the
frozen North known as Canada.  The highlight of the trip was the 250meter
ice climb, and the low point was my thermostat being stuck open (covering
the upper and lower grill and watching the temperature was able to
"fix" it).

As for the roads from Spokane WA to Banff... The drive up on Boxing Day
evening was miserable as there was about 8" of fresh snow on the
highway. Ugh.  We bivied that night between two Peterbuilts- four people
in a weekender. Hmm Cozy.  Once the roads were cleared, they remained
cleared the whole time.  No ice or anything. Lots of rocks though.

Highway 95 in northern Idaho was a bit icy and wet in spots but certainly
safe and passable. If a storm is comgin i would not want to be on that
road though!

Crossing the boarder was painless this time. Last year i got stopped &
searched both ways. Ugh.
