When the Vanagon ceased production, Adventurewagen started doing high roof conversions to Ford Econoline vans. When I bicycled down the Pacific Coast in 1992 I rode right by Adventurewagen and saw a number of Ford conversions parked there. I haven't seen any since but the Vanagon conversions were also very rare. I know someone who had one and said it was very slow and handled poorly in the wind.
