Subject: Radiator question...
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii

I'm considering replacing my radiator at the same time I replace all of my coolant hoses, since I have been plagued with continuous overheating for some time now. I've heard that over time, the by-products of coolant can accumulate in the radiator and clog it. Several on the list have mentioned that replacing their radiators solved their cooling problem. I'm thinking that after 14 years, a new radiator could be viewed as additional preventative maintenance.

Question: a list vendor offers a new German radiator for $239 and a new South African radiator for $179. The part numbers are the same (except for an "OR" suffix). Can anyone tell me what the differences are, if any, between these parts? (other than the obvious) Would I be equally well-served by going with the less expensive radiator?

Thanks,

Dan 1987 Westfalia
