These axles are the same as found on the 16" right? If not, all the comments below are BS. If not, they might still be valuable info?

That VW number is 251 501 201 G; 108 mm axle for 16"

Wrong, you also need: *The spacer sleeve inside the bearing housing, p/n 251 501 281 (2 pcs) *The bolts that attach the shaft to the hubs, p/n N 900 972 02 (24 pcs) *The plates for the above mentioned bolts, p/n 251 501 357 (12 pcs). *Also 120g of grease for the CV joints vs. 90g for the regular size.

The ETKA also says that the rear hub is different, as is the rear lug bolts, but these can be different due to the larger LT brakes on the 16"

The ETKA suggests an estimated price of DM 755 which is about $360.

The p/n for the 16" cv joint in my ETKA is 431 498 103 C, these should be easy to find in the US as they are identical on 1st. gen. Audi 5000, say 81-84 models.

It should be easy for any lister to pick up a A5000 cv joint in a junkyard and see how the fit to a regular Syncro axle is.
