I ordered a mirror for my 73 Bus and it was wrapped similarly.  Arrived fine.

If something is damaged in transit, it is the shippers fault (remember the
insurance that is bought) not the vender (unless it can be traced to the
vender)

I also had a @$2400 five speed VANAGON transmission damaged by UPS, I had to
wait over 3 months for a resolution.  I ended up with a new SA .457 five
speed in the end though, well worth the wait...
