I'm with Andrew on this one. Very early in the process of making my conversion decision I dropped by to chat with my friendly local emission/mechanic guy. He is a very good mechanic and told me that he had absolutely no problem with working on the conversion that I selected. I went with the Subaru. Any garage with the skill and knowledge to work on a Subaru can work on these conversions. The beauty of it is, everything is VW except the engine. The engine is all Subaru. If your garage has the diagnostic tools necessary to plug into a Subaru, they can plug into the conversion. Another reason that I chose my particular conversion was because it requires so little service anyway. Several of the owners with whom I have spoken, had not been under their vanagon in over a year.
