Add Fed-Ex or any other courier to that list too - I had a customer return an item to me and *I* had to pay $80 CAD in brokerage and duty to get the item back. US Mail is the only way to go to get an item from the USA into Canada.

The only way to "escape" this is to go with their expedited service which has these fees "built in".... I agree - they are a total rip off!

If you need "generic" parts for your Vanagon go to http://www.bowwow.ca or if you need "specialty" parts for your Vanagon please feel free to visit me at http://www.fastforward.ca and support Canadian businesses - no offence to any of the fine American businesses out there.

The stranger part of this is if you send something from Canada to the USA the US customers DON'T pay these ridicules fees.

Chris, I wish you had posted this last week. UPS is in the process of screwing me out of over $100 more than it would have cost with the postal service. And if that weren't enough to leave a bad taste in your mouth, they rerouted the parcel to return to the US (GKY). I tracked the damn thing and notified them of their mistake. Now it is rerouted off in the direction of Bracebridge (again GKY).

Listen to Chris.. DO NOT USE UPS FOR US-CANADA SHIPMENTS. -Larry
