VW used to sell their cv joints as a separate item, hence the 443 407 331D part number. In the last few years, VW has changed to selling a kit that includes all the parts in a boot kit along with the joint. When I pull older cv joint kits off the shelf, they still have the joint inside the box with the old part number on them.

If you look up the 431 498 103C in the repair kits section of ETKA, it should show all the components used to make up the kit.
