Dave, Try and relate to this; "The bitterness of poor quality remains long after the sweetness of the good deal is gone" I charge $2000.00, for a paint job on a conventional Mack truck, no body work, no fiberglass repair. I can tell you, that if it was a red cab, the paint cost alone is $375.00.( red is the most expensive.) The primer is another, $65.00, tape, masking paper, sand paper, and a ton of labor. Now, with this in mind, how in the heck can Maaco, give you any kind of quality job for $350.00? And believe me the cab of a Mack, has less surface area, than the Vanagon. In my youth I painted for Earl Scheib in the 60's, and you have no idea, of the poor prep job that was done on automobiles, and the garbage paint that they used. I know Scheib isn't Maaco, but it is a franchised organization, and they are out to make a quick buck, just like any other Wam Bam, organization. Caveat, Emptor!
