Hey Paul, I hammered the hell out of my muffler to get it to fit. Unless it is severely damaged, like radially tourqued or linearly bent I would probably just accept that this deal sucked and put it on. I've been there too, up against Father Time, and I sympathize with you. Rereading your original post, my muffler also arrived with several large dents that looked factory inflicted to my untrained eyes. Maybe they are 'normal'?
