whatever he can get for it. just like any old car, my friend. its past it's age of depreciation. if it's a piece of sh*t, then not much. if its in nice, restorable, driveable shape, then more. if totally restored, and perfect show cond., as much as they can get. sorry so vague, but there's no "set dollar amount" for antique cars.

i have a '78 Champagne edition westfalia. It's a rare special edition model that they only made 1 year. Chrome bumpers, 2-tone paint, clock and all. i bought it about 5 yrs ago from a fellow LiMBO Bus Club member for about $5500. All orig paint, no rust ever, california vehicle. I think it was a fair price for it's cond. and model. Not a "steal", but a fair price. since then i've probably put at least $3000 into it. Does that mean its now worth $8500? maybe. Maybe not. But then again, who cares, because its not for sale.

And a few years earlier i bought a '74 Deluxe westfalia, w/ only 80k mi on it, again, a california vehicle w/ no rust ever, and orig paint. i paid $150 for it. yep. $150. it needed its carbs rebuilt and some schmutz cleaned out of the gas tank to get it running, but other than that, it was a great runner. I sold it for $4500. so, like i said, its whatever you can get for it, or whatever it's worth to you.

chris
