I had a turbodiesel Quantum with one of these cold start knobs. Actually it
was more of an integrated part of the dashboard rather than a free standing
knob like on the Vanagon. Someone destroyed this cold start knob in the
process of stealing the stereo. I lived in an area where it went below
freezing in the winter and it always started fine without the use of the
cold start knob.
