Joe, Besides making your own curtains or having them made, there are two products I have used in the past that work well. One was a vinyl covered spring about 3/16" in diam. You cut it to length and then screw a small eyelet in the ends. Attach the eyelet to the body with a sheet metal screw. I am not sure where you would get this. I first saw it in Australia and later at K-Mart in the US.

The other product was called "marine rod" (I guess 'cause it was used in yachts a lot and our Vanagons are a lot like yachts, "A hole in the water ((or on land)) where you pour a lot of money". This consisted of 36" plastic rods with overlapping ends. Cut it to the length you need. It comes with end caps to finish it off. The other parts of the kit are nylon sliders that go over the rod and a cloth tape, with snaps attached, that you sew to the curtains. The snaps attach to the nylon sliders. Works great. It can be bent and can be used horizontally or overhead. I used it to put curtains behind the front seats. I do a lot of stealth camping and it's less obvious than having the curtain (that comes with the Westy) across the front windshield. I got the marine rod at a small shop that did van conversions in San Diego, some years ago.
