I went to my local surf shop (you may not have one in your area :-) and got their cheapest surf board roof mount kit. It has a couple of nylon straps with clips that hold on to the rain gutter. There is some foam "pipe insulation" that slides over the strips to protect the roof and lift the surfboard up an inch off of the roof surface. The loose ends of the straps are used to tie the surf board down. I'm using it this weekend as a cheap ski rack. Jim '91 Westy MV
