Subject: more UPS (precious little Vanagon content)...
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii" ; format="flowed"

I put all of the Christmas tree clippings from our tree inside our dormant '90 Vanagon, which was getting pretty stale smelling because it gets driven about once a month, and now it's wonderfully pine-scented (and full of dead needles).

That's it for VW content...

I just did a Google search for "UPS sucks" and came up with "about 83,000" hits.

This one was on the first page: http://www.awebplus.com/ups-sucks/ , and it appears to be written by UPS employees. If even a fraction of their complaints are true, it is no wonder that the service is less than great.

Even the domain www.ups-sucks.com is registered (but not populated).

http://www.upssucks.net is populated.

To be fair I should also be running searches for "FedEx sucks" ("about 2,400) and "USPS sucks" ("about 1,160).

As the GEICO radio spots would say "There you have it - conclusive proof that UPS sucks!".

I've rather enjoyed this thread. I knew nothing before about the crazy charges for shipping to and from Canada, and I feel enlightened now. Also, it's nice to hear from people who are closer to "my peers" than the media muckrakers who are simply looking for some content to fill pages or 24-hour news shows. You're real, and you ship stuff like I would. As valuable as I find Consumer Reports, many of their parameters are often waaay different from mine. I don't need to know about shipping "a vase to Aunt Ethel" - I know better. --
