Roger and fellow vanagon types

I have been in touch with Kolbenschmidt they have reported to me that the main bearings for the vanagon have not been made for 2 years. the problem is with the small #4 nose bearing they cant or wont make it they where not clear why. It is zink coated and I think that might be part of the problem. They also said that they have tried to get other suppliers in brazil to provide the small bearing with no luck and are now ordering the small bearing from mexico and should have a supply in 90 days that puts the main bearing in this country in april as Ron said I have suggested that they ship the bearings without the missing bearing or sell the bearings individually as VW has done when they had a supply. I have not heard back from on this I have a small supply of bearings and will sell them only as part of a complete engine I am currently tooling up to align bore type 4 and waterboxer cases and will be offering this service in the very near future Bob Donalds boston engine as always all rights reserved.
