Maybe a longshot, but while studying the Bosch fuel injection book I read that the fuel pressure system is designed to maintain adequate pressure for some time after the engine is turned off to aid in warm or hot re-start. Could be your fuel pressure regulator, fuel pump, or merely a fuel line or connection of them, including at the injectors, is a bit leaky. There is a test in the Bentley and the Haynes to see if the system is maintaining pressure (mine is not and I am preparing to replace lines & parts). But I imagine it could be something else instead.
