Porsche was not the last air-cooled car manufacturer. Tatra continued making its big T700 air-cooled V8 rear-engined sedans right up until March 1999 which was after Porsche ceased production of its air-cooled 911 sportscars. And, of course, Volkswagen still make the air-cooled "old" Beetle in Mexico and the air-cooled "old" T2 Transporters in Brazil.
