Most late model vanagons are wired with what is generally called in American terminology double aught (spelling wrong I am sure), normally expressed as 00 size, which is about four sizes larger (fatter) than 2 gague.

2 gague cable compared to 00 cable looks quite thin so for most Vanagons switching to 2 gague size or even 0 gague size would be a mistake.

The actual size of the cable is not 00, however, but a European size that is almost that value after conversion to the American sizing system.

A switch to this Jacobs cable is probably therefore not a good idea for most list members.
